This guarantee has a few reasonable conditions:
Studies show that ‘A’ students consistently miss less than 5% of classes. Success is about practice, and practice requires consistency in order to be effective. Students will attend tutoring sessions a minimum of 2 times per week, will not experience any significant absences from school, and will be responsible for reporting on and completing any missed assignments.
This means that students will bring all texts, homework and other materials related to the subject being tutored. Just like you wouldn’t show up to hockey practice without your skates, you shouldn’t show up to a tutoring session without everything that you need to be successful.
Students will have made a reasonable and timely attempt at all homework and assignments from school and this tutoring service. Just ‘showing up’ is not enough for success in life. Being willing to try and make an attempt is critical. It is possible to try and not succeed, but it is next to impossible to succeed without trying.
‘A’ level students – although strong students can benefit greatly from an enriched and challenging program of study with a tutor, there are no provisions within the traditional grading structure that can be used to show continued improvement. Basically, an ‘A’ or an ‘Exceeds Expectations’ is as high as most grading structures go, so I cannot facilitate improvement upon it from a grade standpoint.
Students on Individualized or significantly modified education plans – while these students will often benefit most from working directly with a tutor, often they do not receive formal grades.
But basically it’s pretty simple; in most instances, if your child attends regularly, comes prepared and puts in a reasonable effort, he or she will see a at least a 1 grade level improvement or I will personally continue to tutor your child for another 6 weeks at no charge.
